B12 deficiency can be linked to RA and even more so if taking methotrexate and you are vegetarian.

Low albumin is a mystery.. usually high albumin/ protein is considered more of problem tham low.. my albumin. protein levels are monitored because of my medication .gold injections

Hi catjones. I also have vit B12 deficiency which means that it is not absorbed through the stomach from food. I have a B12 injection every 3 months. Whether it is to do with me getting RA 3 1/2 years ago I don't know but it showed up on my blood tests which were monitored by my GP over some months before they called me into discuss it and organise the injections.

My late father also had B12 deficiency but he did not have RA. I don't think it is a given that you get B12 deficiency just because you have RA but clearly if you have RA there is probably a connection. My GP told me it was only because I was having the regular blood tests for RA that it was picked up and that I probably had it for years before hand. LavendarLady

Very interesting..

Dont know if I have low B12 or not, but recently started taking B12 suppliments as I was feeling tired and read that it could 'up' my energy levels.

Its only been a couple weeks, and I do feel the benefit but the 'windybelly' side effect from these tablets will probably be the dealbreaker :D
