I Have had my blood test results back, My G P has asked me to go back as my ERS is over 100 what dose this mean

It just means that there's some inflammation somewhere in your body. Could be caused by a lot of things, such as a temporary infection that can be cured with antibiotics, so don't worry at the moment. Or if you've already been diagnosed with inflammatory arthritis then means you're probably flaring and need a boost in your meds. Best thing is to try to get an appointment as soon as you can, but ESR can go much higher than 100 so don't panic. Polly

mine was also very high but gradually coming down now .... but as helixhelix said dont worry... i know people with higher than that ...

Hi Diane, as helix and essex girl have said it could mean anything, not necessarily a flare, mine goes up when I get a cold. Try not to worry to much. It's good that your GP has got in touch with you as some don't. Take care x

It sounds pretty high to me! Mine has never been above 50, but as everyone else says, it could be anything. It is just a marker for inflammation. CRP is another marker. My CRP has always been higher than my ESR - I think everyone is different though.
