Hi is there anyone out there who was a patient of Dr. Barbara Ansell in the1960's onwards.
Met her just once when I first got RA/Sjogrens
She was my doctor for for over 25 years and received treatment fot JCA with only NSAIDs. I am now trying umpteen Dmards and biologics without a lot of success, I am looking for anyone who might have similar experience. Thanks for replying. Jenny
My brother who was has had Stills disease at 7yrs used to see Barbara Ansell at Taplow . I remember going with him and my mum , we would be picked up from home and then we collected someone else in another town also with appointment to see Dr Ansell.
I was diagnosed with Juvenile Dermatomyocitis when I was 5 in 1971 and visited Taplow and Doctor Barbara Ansell many times between then and 1984. When Taplow closed I was transferred to Northwick Park Hospital.
My wife was diagnosed 70 years ago. at Stanmore
She was later treated by Barbara and her boss Prof Bywaters.
She was treated and had an operation in Taplow when Barbara was there.
We continued with her after she retired seeing her privately for consultations at Windsor until her death.
We met Prof Bywaters at Southwark Cathedral
I assume you are aware of this wondeful memory of Barbaral

Hi I spent 3 months in Canadian Red Cross in 1967 when I was 10 years old I was diagnosed with Stills I recovered well until recently I have started to feel a lot of pain and stiffness in most of my joints I don't know yet if it's wear and tear to do with age but I have been suffering with fatigue and struggling to do every day chores and work. I wish Dr Ansell was still here to advise. The last time I saw her was when I had my son, she wanted to see him, that was in 1983.
I was diagnosed with still and stayed at taplow for 2 years barbara used to tease me with pictures of me saying I had been all around the world with her
I was a patient of barbara Ansell and stayed in taplow from 1965to 1967 then various stays there sand heatherwood in ascot
Stillstandingup this post is 7 years old and the op is no longer on here but hopefully some other people will respond 😊
I was a patient of hers at Northwick Park hospital at Harrow and she was my saviour and specialist for a number of years - I had a very rare flesh eating illness 4th in the uk to exist with it and she was the only doctor who knew what it was - the knowledge and experience that she had was amazing and the team of doctors / students etc that followed her was amazing! Amazing lady xxx I would not be here if not for her! I now have 17 Conditions but she saved me x
Was there in ‘74 for maybe 3/4 months. Remarkable woman still saving me now!
Anyone still here who was there? Hopefully so.
Nobody understands my stubbornness is keeping moving about through the pan!!
