I am waiting for my first Rheumy appointment in June. I have a lump on the bottom of my foot. It is a 'biopsy proven rheumatoid nodule'. It is making walking and driving difficult, although not impossible. Can my GP do something about this before my appt. or do I need to wait to see rheumy?

Hi there
I used to have things for my feet which were wide elastic bands with a padded "lump" attached and these were good for taking the pressure off my feet nodules. I think you may be able to find something like if you search on line - with scholl for example. They helped me a lot! Ideally when you see your rhuemmy you will be referred to the orthotics dept., who should make you personal appliances. Good luck.
Why not just make an appointment with your GP and see what he/she has to say. Many surgeries now offer minor surgery or have access to hospital minor surgery units, they may be able to do something to ease the pain or at the very least give you some advice as to what's best to wear.

Hi Richard, when I had a bone that dislocated & pointed down to the ball of my foot, I used callous cushions. It was just enough to raise it off the ground & stop the daily pounding. I also had 2 arthritis nodules removed from my heels, one on each.
I hope that you can find some relief soon.
