My right ankle is very painfull,i am now being told its a fracture that did not heal correctly .Over a year ago i went to A&E in agony and on 2 occasions ,i then was sent to a consultant who told me its a fracture,i dont know how i did it but a over a year of appointments later he says they now want to operate. Why leave my like this all this time if now they are saying the fracture never healed but know one gave me any treatment for it,so thats why its not healed ,i am very confused in pain and some what scared. They said the bone is also damaged by the RA .Sorry to moan but just want some advice.I will be speaking to the consultant next week to get some full and indepht info i hope as he talks fast and then dismisses me .x

Maybe your GP can help explain everything to you better Julie. Poor you hope you get something sorted out soon sounds like you're in a lot of pain. TTx

Take a list of questions and concerns.take someone with you and if he talks too fast or you dont understand something ask him to repeat it, dont let him walk over you x

I'm so sorry to hear you've had to go through such pain Julie. It's awful that you've been left all this time in pain with no treatment. I know it's small consolation but at least now there is hope of the fracture finally being sorted and you will get some long overdue relief. Hopefully you'll feel much better once you've had a chat with the consultant. I agree with Summer, take someone with you who can help stand your ground.

Hi Julie out of politeness we always try not to butt in and so we let the consultant finish what they are saying (and then forget what we wanted to ask about what they have just said).

Sooooo practice this week shouting 'stop'.

Also when the consultant starts ask him to speak a little slower (lie and tell him you are going deaf in one ear or something) hopefully that will slow him down!

Take care
