I work for a big utility company and the health and safety executive has requested a meeting with me today about my medication. I have to report to HR what I am on, and as MTX is cytotoxic I’m assuming they have concerns about if I need to bring it into the office on a rare occasion I am in. Has anyone had anything similar? Also, I’m not on sulfasalazine. That’s not cytotoxic is it? Xx

Are there any regulations about divulging medication to your employer?I would not be happy…..I’m sure if there are rules somebody on here will have heard about them.I have never heard that Mtx might need discussing with your company…what reason did they give you?
This seems a strange request from an employer. As far as I am aware the medication does not affect your ability to work, although your health might do. Definitely seek advice from NRAS or Rheumatology, surely your health is personal.
Some meds do make you drowsy. Maybe they are concerned about that???
Good morning. If you would like support, information or just someone to talk to, our NRAS helpline is open every weekday from 9.30am to 4.30pm nras.org.uk/helpline/ 0800 298 7650. Or have a look at our website nras.org.uk. Kind regards.
