Did you have xrays or ECG

My consult mentioned costochondritis but landed up being at aortic stenosis. So the good thing is they have done the tests for the heart and now it’s figuring out how to deal with the pain. It hurts so 🥰 hopeYou feel better soon.

Yes, I've been suffering from what feels like cramp in my chest. I've had 2 x ECG and both were fine.

I too have RA and last years developed severe chest pains and found a small lump mid chest and my chiro found I had costochondritis and she was able to align the popped" ribs......, you get inflammation at the ends of the ribs. I then had the same thing but on the back of the rib cage.....I followed the guidelines as shown on the Facebook Costo site and helped myself using a rolled up towel and again using my chiro. It is horrendous but it can eventually disappear. Dear "Arthur" can cause so many soft tissue injuries and other problems (I now have a bout of Achilles tendonitis ..... again inflammation!!). Hope you recover soon. Hugs

Hi I have been experiencing this on and off for years I do have AF and angina 2 times I have been sent to A&E once by my Dr and once by rhumatology to be told it is nothing to do with my heart .I have only just got over the last time I had it it lasted 5 weeks it was awful I have put it down to costochondritis x

I am getting this more and more. I saw my GP who referred me to the heart clinic. But the heart clinic just told them if I'm getting pain to go to a & e! How stupid is that. I'm in a quandary of what to do I really don't want to go to A &E and sit for hours while others are coughing and spluttering or lord knows what else around me. Let alone the fact I may be wasting their time if it's coscondrytis.

I've had pain on & off just to the right of my chest aswell as directly opposite in my back.Last Thursday I had severe pain across my chest that was getting worse & worse, I was so worried & in pain I rang 999 as I really thought I was having a heart attack, 999 said it would be about an hour to hour & a half before the ambulance could get to me & to chew 4 aspirin tablets (my son found some that were 7 years out of date & tasted like cardboard 🤢 but the operator said its fine)

My husband drove me to a & e rather than wait for the ambulance, I was shaking like mad & breathing heavily, after waiting for over an hour I had an ecg which was showing some abnormalities, I was sent for a chest xray then waited 4 hours to be seen again to be told everything was fine 🙄 but as I have high blood pressure I was advised to try & reduce this (despite being on medication for it)

Whilst I am overweight it's not excessive, & I do keep pretty active.

The pain still continues on & off like before but I do have a slight wheeze, I've got an appointment with gp tomorrow about this although as my chest xray was fine I'm at a loss.

Hope you get some answers & feel better soon x

Twice Ihave been rushed into a&e but checked all was ok but it was my r.a. Was shown how to check if it was due to my r.a.

I have psoriatic arthritis and had a heart attack four years ago. Was advised this could have been due to medication / arthritic condition. I had a stent fitted and have been ok since. My symptoms were pain in neck and worse on exertion. Experienced this for one week before seeing G.P .

note my diagnosis is Stills Disease which for me manifests as rheumatoid disease with chronic joint pain and inflammation. It began in 1979 aged 17 now nearly 63 and the chest, rib and flank pain began about 30 years ago. I don’t have a diagnosis of chostochondtitis (sp?) but suspect that. I also have tendinitis and Enthetitis in my foot following an injury and PN. I find heat helps a lot.

Sounds like costochondritis. A few years ago I had terrible pain in my breast bone and ribs and I was taken to hospital with a suspected heart attack. It wasn’t a heart attack , but when they discovered I had RA they suggested costochondritis. Was treated with strong painkillers and a heat pack. It does go eventually, but returns every now and again.

Hope this helps.🙏

Yes heat is a real help for this. My husband used to own a motorbike, we sold it when I could hold on any longer. I used to have a plug in heated jacket to wear on the bike, now I wear it when my ribs hurt although it does mean sitting down near the plug with my feet up, such a challenge 😉

Yes a couple of weeks ago. Mine was diagnosed as Pleurisy. After a course of antibiotics, I’m now on the mend. Hope they find the cause soon x

Hello.I have RA interstitial lung disease, it started in 2022, was in so pain they tried telling me it was pneumonia, it wasn't and in 2023 Brompton hospital got involved, the chest pains are awful, it's at the very bottom of my ribcage and sternum.

It's my pleura that was inflammed and my lungs had scarring, it hurt to sneeze, laugh and hiccup..

What biologic are you on?

I was on abatacept and that attacked my lungs.

I stopped it and started RTX.. now I'm in Remission.

I'm also on abatacept have been having breathing issues for a while now but comes and goes has only started to worry me as happening quite more often just waiting on an appointment with my consultant to discuss these issues . Glad you have got sorted and are doing good
