hi all. I have developed severe hip pain over the last 6 weeks. Currently on Benepali and just weaning off steroids. Does anyone else have the same issues? I gave RA and Fibromyalgia. Thank you for your help.

Have you discussed this with you rheumatologist? It could be osteoarthritis or your RA of something else.

Don't forget Hickam's Dictum: Patients can have as many diseases as they damn well please!

So it is worth having anything new looked into.

Do soeak to your rheumy. Tean,,,…..sounds like it maybe Bursitis. ..which I find comes and goes…sometimes very quickly…other times it can last weeks/months.

But do ask for professional advice,

It is easy to blame a medication. Ialso take benepali. Hip and knee pain are not listed on side effects. However, I have recently suffered from knee pain, which is a new complaint for me. I don't know if it is a problem with muscles, tendons, ligaments, a displaced knee cap, erosion with RA, or whether I now have osteoarthritis. I could simply have twisted something by an awkward move. I am speculating without thorough tests such as Xrays MRI, CT scan ,blood tests, a physical examination. If it doesn't improve in another few weeks I shall make a GP appointment and ask for diagnostic tests . I do value proper diagostic testing. I will also enlist the support of my Rheumatologist, probably when I have the next appointment, provided I can wait that long. I hope you identify your problem and find a solution.
