Rheumatoid Arthritis Tip

Good Morning All

I have RA which is quite severe in my hands and wrists.

I have recently purchased two blue stress balls from eBay which were really cheap.

I have been squeezing the stress balls ten times, three times a day and thought that I would share my experience with you as it really is starting to help regain strength and to help to stretch my ligaments and tendons.

Xx

Sounds a good idea. Fortunately my hands aren't too bad at the moment, but I'd certainly use something if they were. I've had good improvements using things for hips, knees and spine. Important to try and increase muscle strength.

I would like to regain muscle strength too , but interested in what you did for your spine?

A lot of exercises. I did have a guided steroid shot over a year ago which helped considerably in getting me back into exercising. Swimming, light exercise on rebounder and walking. It's not a quick fix. It has taken some time.

The Physio dept sent me some hand exercises to do with stress balls so I bought a set of three - different strengths and colours. Nice to hold with a fabric outer cover. I just tried the softest one but my eyes glazed over following the exercise routines 😀

So then they recommended therapy putty. Found some called Theraputty on Amazon. Pots come in various strengths/amounts.

I like that even more as I can play about with it while I'm watching something on tv or whatever.

Sounds perfect. Thank you for sharing. I used to love playing with bouncy putty as a child 😘 x

I’ve started using putty again after a few years and it seems to be helping hands and wrists. I also wear compression gloves which I feel are helping too.
