Hi same here. Both arms were sore for several days. I was told by my Rheumatology nurse to stop my Methotrexate and Filgotinib for two weeks after the vaccinations to ensure a good immune response to the vaccines.
I've just been reading about the persistance of antibodies to Covid19 after infection AND after vaccination. Research is showing that the cells which remember antibody production to Covid19 (and the killer T cells which kill the virus) don't persist in the body like after some other illnesses (measles for example). So we need boosters more often to keep our resistance to infection.
We already knew that Flu vaccine needs changing frequently because it mutates rapidly, so we need a new one each year and hope that the manufacturers get the variety right!
Thanks one and all for feed back. As we know it's a personal decision, I was just sharing my experience as a reassurance to ones on MTX.
The one year I missed the booster ended up getting Covid at the end of a holiday in Jersey. Ironically someone got it was isolated more to do with an injury than Covid, but their relative and carer carried on mixing with us. Boom I got it🙄 on my last day, ended up giving it to my son who picked me up from the drop off point. He had to isolate, has a wife with a health issue making her vulnerable. I wasn't dreadfully effected by Covid took about 5 days before test was negative. The main thing was the company I travelled with was for ones with disabilities, had absolutely no idea about ensuring we were safe, plus other odd "care" ideas. I did write to the company explained all this.
In the end lesson learned on my part keep up with my boosters.
