Hi does anyone suffer from a blocked nose from taking either of these meds which is causing me to snore? My husband who has always snored and like most wives I have ignored it over the years but he is taking to our spare bedroom as he says he can't stand my loud snores which has started since taking both these meds. maybe It could be something else but my nose is regularly blocked and crusty inside.
Thanks

I’ve been on MTX and Etanercept for 8yrs, and gave the snoring issue. I downloaded an app, which was able to show me what exacerbated it. If I have alcohol or caffeine, I can snore 3hrs +. On nights where I don’t drink alcohol or caffeine it’s like 30mins. My respiratory specialist also says I have sleep apnea, but thankfully don’t need a cpap machine. Extra weight I’ve gained doesn’t help. Hubby and I moved to different rooms at the start of covid, as I was shielding and he was working. It works well, so we have continued, as I yelp a lot when I change position. So now he only suffers when we visit my daughter, or go away on holiday 😂
I just feel like I've got a permanent cold and I'm on methotrexate. I thought I was going barmy unfortunately me and my husband both snore so whoever can't sleep ends up moving into the spare bed
Blocked up with sticky white catarrh and swollen boggy lining to nose, yes. And definitely worse for the couple of days after the etanercept, then gradually improving. But the injection is like magic, so I'm happy to put up with the catarrh.
Many of the drugs exacerbate snoring because they lower the immune system. I get very bunged sinuses so take a daily antihistamine and a steroidal nose spray. Keeps down the snoring and the risk of sinus infections
