When will this nightmare end it’s hit me so hard. Any advice would be so welcome x

Sorry to hear you're so unwell with it. If you're prescribed immunosuppressive medications for RA then it might be worth seeking advice from your GP or rheumatology team (or NHS 111 / a walk-in centre if you can't get hold of them now it's the weekend). Some folks are eligible for antivirals that aim to reduce the severity of symptoms, depending on which medications they're prescribed and other medical factors, but I think to be effective they mostly need to be started within 5 days of testing positive. An NHS 111 clinician or pharmacist should be able to advise on this. It sounds like you're doing the right thing trying to take plenty of fluids and keeping warm. I really hope this passes for you soon, but please do get medical advice and input if you need it.
Thank you I’m on methotrexate I rang the gp and I’m apparently not allowed the antivirals she said it’s only for people with asthma or heart problems so I can’t have them so just have to suffer for a while longer she said if you start having breathing problems ring us back but thanks for your reply xx
If it's any consolation I got covid 3 weeks ago and it gradually got worse over a week or so and then levelled off before starting to get better (I'm on sulphasalazine and sarilumab).
Get well soon.
thank you it feels slightly better today at least I managed to get out of bed
I’m 14 days since testing positive - husband who has RA tested positive a few days after me - this is the first time either of us have had Covid - both of us are still testing positive - he’s not had it that bad due I think to him having the last full vaccine in March - I only have boosters (last one September 23) and I’ve been like you - I thought a few days ago I’d turned a corner and took the dogs out for a long walk yesterday and this morning I feel breathless and chesty - all you can do is rest and, especially as you’re on Methotrexate, I’d contact your GP and ask for help - I rang my GP and despite being nearly 70 they just told me to take paracetamol and rest - hope you feel better soon x
We enjoyed COVID-19, in July of 2022. It was the first and only time. Thankfully, my wife brought it home, keeping me from sleeping outdoors indefinitely. It was a miserable experience. Our journey lasted from the 5th thru the 30th of the month. Symptoms were all over the map, it was different day-by-day. A few times, we believed it was over, only to be tossed into another round of viral enjoyment. We took fever reducer, as needed, drank copious amounts of water, slept as much as possible, showered 2X day to cleanse toxins and simply prayed for a quick recovery. We did make it. Overall experience rating ... 0/10.
