Sorry I know I should know this but I’ve just tested positive, I’m unsure who I’m supposed to contact, I can’t see anything online, first time I’ve had it! Any help would be much appreciated

Are you feeling OK? I know in the States if we want our COVID numbers to be counted we went to a lab to be tested like a chain pharmacy.

Information is in Government covid web site and it tells you how to register your positive reading. If you are on biologics you could be entitled to anti viral meds and you'd get contacted.

From my experience of having Covid twice if you think you may be eligible for Covid treatments contact your rheumatology team or call 111 and they will make a referral to the CMDU (Covid Medicines Delivery Unit). The CMDU will assess if you are eligible and if so which treatment is most suitable.

Thank you all, am on a dmard, biologic and pred so I’m guessing I’ll get the antivirals. Have registered a positive result with NHS, waiting on a call within 24 hours. Feeling pretty unwell, tired but only a slight temperature, line is very dark (I did a test yesterday and it was clear). Have had 6 vaccinations so hoping they should do their job! Was due humira tomorrow so I’ll miss that and ask about the dmard and prednisone

Don’t wait for them to call you. Either contact your rheumatology department or call 111.

The simplest way would be to call 111/119…..they will tell you today’s rules …they seem to change daily.

update, they’ve just delivered the antivirals, I’m really impressed, just over 7 hours from the point of reporting it and feel very grateful as I’ve felt progressively worse over the day. Fingers crossed start to feel better soon and thank you all for the advice!

I’m on methotextrate, so when I had COVID , I was able to get the antivirals immediately. What a difference they made . I was so ill, within2 hours my headaches lifted. Next day my sore throat and earache had gone. By day 3 , all symptons gone apart from a slight cough. Good luck❤️

Thank you for that, that’s great to hear, I took the first lot last night and again this morning, hoping they start to work soon. Were you still contagious? I’d really like to be okay for Mother’s Day but looking doubtful at the moment xx

did you not get an email from the health department. It says to contact them and also your Gp check to see if you had an email in your junk mail. So if you can’t find it or have not received one contact your Gp and tell them or ring 111 and explain to them. Hopefully you get some answers get well soon

As I’m on immune surpressants and eligible for medication, my doctors told me to contact them if it’s in surgery hours or NHS 111 if not.

I just had a video conference with my nurse-practitioner after taking a at home Covid Test that was positive and she prescribed Paxlovid.

I have bad body aches and a very sore throat. My immune system won’t make antibodies to Covid despite having three Covid shots. The don’t give Evusheld infusions here in the US any more.

Hope you feel better soon, I started taking it last night, still feeling pretty unwell but hoping should start to feel better soon. We don’t have Evusheld in the UK but have had 6 vaccinations. I recommend getting some mints, it leaves a very unpleasant taste in your mouth. Hope it starts to work quickly for you x
