Being diagnosed with a long-term condition such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA) means that many decisions need to be made during your treatment pathway, particularly about the range of options that are available to you.
We’re in the process of developing a survey looking into perceptions around the use of injectables as a treatment format for RA. We are particularly interested in understanding any misconceptions you may have had around this treatment format beforehand, and any support/resources you feel might be beneficial to support patients using this particular format.
To take part in this survey you need to be diagnosed with RA, be 16 years old or older and live within the UK. We very much appreciate your time in helping us with this survey. The following questions should only take about 10-15 minutes to complete.
I have added a note to the opening question about the use of an injectable, to clarify that it is relating to whether you take oral pills in conjunction with an injectable or not.
It still goes on to say changing to injectables not in addition too. So I can’t answer , I take oral and use an injectable. Not MTX so perhaps it needs an adjustment. For me and perhaps others the injectable is in conjunction with, not instead of. Sorry.
If you are referring to the question 'Have you ever switched from an oral treatment to an injectable?' Y/N - You can say No in your scenario as you are currently on both and not switched. If you don't mind, I'd like to DM you to understand this further to come up with a solution
The survey is about perceptions of injectables. Therefore, if you have only taken oral pills, you will be asked a few questions and then they survey will end. Whereas, if you have used any injectable (in conjunction with pills or not), the survey continues.
Have filled it in but, as usual with these kind of surveys (quantitative rather than qualitative) it feels like a basic box ticking exercise. My experiences with injectables aren't really covered by the questions, I don't think.
You have asked for RA sufferers only, but they are not the only group who use injectables along with orals. I have psoriatic arthritis and use benepali & mtx.
I can’t it still doesnt make sense. Is it not the case that with oral DMARDs only MTX is injectable. The others are biological or bio similar DMARDs and stronger and are only prescribed in the UK after the orals and usually in conjunction with them. We can’t choose to go onto injectables as an alternative to oral apart from MTX. I’ve given up on it now.
