Nasal Sores with Mtx

I inject 15mg of Methotrexate weekly and take folic acid 6 times per week. Recently I keep getting nasal sores in both nostrils which are sore and painful. I researched that the cause is most likely Mtx. I have tried to ring advice line at my hospital but it is never open. Has anyone any suggestions for any cream or lotion that I can apply to soothe these sores? Many Thanks

Go to your local pharmacy and speak to the pharmacist (not the counter assistant) and they will surely be able to advise you. Hope you get some relief from the pain and sores very soon.

My GP gives me a prescription for Naseptin cream when I get them. Works well.

This probably won't help you, but it might, or might help others.

I used to be a breastfeeding counsellor and we recommended Lansinoh for cracked and sore nipples. It is pure medical grade lanolin (people who think they are allergic to lanolin are usually allergic to something else in the ointment they try, not the lanolin itself) and a little bit goes a long way.

This means that I still have some left from 25 years ago! It is my go to solution for things like nose sores. And dry lips.

Just mentioning this in case yourself or anyone else finds a tube of it in the back of the medicine cabinet!
