I am on a short course of Doxycycline for a skin infection. Should I not take my MXT during this time? I take 20mgm MXT once a week orally and the usual Folic acid daily except for the MXT day. The course is about one week

yes your supposed to hold off MTX to allow your immune system to fight the infection. I’m always told to wait 48hrs after completing antibiotics, before restarting.

Remember to let your rheumy team know your stopping for antibiotics.

I have had a skin infection on my pinna (outer ear) since last March, I think I may have accidentally stabbed it with a hairbrush. GP prescribed 14 days oral antibiotics over Christmas but no mention of pausing MTX.

As others have said call the RA dept advice line to check. I had to stop my MTX same dosage as you when I was on Doxycycline till i completed the course.

Get better soon.
