Covid and flu vaccines

I unexpectedly had Covid and flu vaccinations today whilst at the doctor's for something else. Was putting it off but glad it's done now. Today is the day I usually inject my MTX and one nurse said give it a miss this week whilst another said to do it as normal. I decided to give it a miss. Is there a general consensus on this in the UK? I'm in Spain.

I was told same thing with Abatercept except I took it previous day. I thought was just flu but had both, I’ve no idea if it mattered though.

The advice from the British society of rheumatology advise missing 2 doses as it has been shown to increase the number of antibodies you produce

I was also advised to miss a dose of mtx to allow for maximum uptake of the vaccination. (Australia)

Original advice was to miss 1 or 2 doses of methotrexate to allow the vaccination to work without restraint. Not sure what the current advice is though so you may want to check with your own Rheumy team. You don’t want to risk a flare.

Personally I still miss 2 but then my RA is currently well controlled.

I tend to do the opposite to what they tell me here.

I know nothing !!! but would give it a miss. But how good to have the jabs just like that.

My daughter went along for a flu jab at the end of the day and although she's well under 70 she asked if there was a chance of a covid one too and she got it - better than discarding them. Hope you're ok

Just to add another experience to the mix - I've never been told to miss any medications before or after covid / flu jabs by my GP or rheumatology team! Although the points others have shared about missing a dose or two make a lot of sense. I don't know if there is a consensus, so much seems to depend on the specific practitioners you see. Especially difficult in your case where one nurse says one thing and another says something else...

They aren't live vaccines so doesn't effect taking of meds
