I fell off a step two weeks ago and took a tiny flare of bone off both my ankle bones (fibula). Very bad sprains and doctor has put me in surgical boots for four weeks (Merry Christmas).
I postponed my three monthly bloods as I was in such a mess but am thinking of going to get them done tomorrow.
My question is, do you think the swelling and bruising I still have will influence the blood test results? I suppose I’d just have to explain to my GP if blood results influenced. Hey ho.
Many thanks in advance for any replies and Happy New Year (I suppose).

When my blood test results are out of kilter, GP always rings me and first question is have you had an infection or an injury if that helps. they always are out of kilter and as I have monthly blood tests it is a monthly conversation 🤣
I would definitely have them done, as they are also looking at liver and kidney function. It will be easy to account for the raised inflammatory markers, if they are still up.
As I understand it, the main reason for MTX blood tests is to check the liver and kidney function, also they are looking at the basic blood counts. An injury is unlikely to change these significantly.
As others have said get the test done to make sure your MTX prescription isn't interrupted.
