Yes. Didn’t work for me.

yes I’ve used compression gloves right from the start, they were given to me by the hospital but I’ve bought them myself too since. I mainly use them over night even when I don’t have much swelling as I find they help with pain/aching too. You could ask your rheumy nurse for advice but I don’t know if they still give them out.

I used to and they took away the ‘burn’. Friend bought me them from Dr Arthritis and they were great.

I use compression gloves but only the ones from Boots which come with an pair of fingerless woolly ones to go over the top - they work for me to reduce the swelling

I am half and half on them sometimes when hands really bad they help a little but day to day they don’t seem to change much . Not too sure if helpful 🤣

I use compression gloves from time to time, when my hands are aching all over and are feeling heavy. I use them after applying voltarol and both are comforting. They don't take away the pain completely but they don't do any harm!

I find them really helpful when finger/hand joints are swollen - both reducing swelling and for ‘comforting feeling

I have several pairs some better than others. The ones I find help best are made of bamboo and are fingerless. They don’t take all the pain away, but make it easier to do tasks. None of them give the same level of compression I get from my knee & elbow sleeves. Mine are all made by a company called One Compress, who have a great customer service. I get videos with exercises to help the joints which I’ve purchased for, and they respond quick to enquiries.

I have just ordered a pair of hand gloves from One Compress after seeing your posts. I had some Isotoner ones from Hand Therapist soon after initial RA diagnosis but they're worn out now. I had found them useful at night from time to time - especially when the Carpal Tunnel was at its worst (between changing biologics). So I hope I won't need them too often in future but would always want to have a pair just in case. Thanks for the tip Runrig!

Hope they help you, but have a great customer service if not happy with them. I often wake in the night with hands and elbows troubling me, and put them in. Pains are much better when I wake, hope they help you too 🤞🤗

I was given oedema gloves by my OT during a flare up. I only wear them at night and they’ve been great at reducing the swelling that would normally build up in my hands over night. They cover my wrists and leave finger tips out. Work well for me.

I use Totes Isotoner gloves, they were given to me by the OT department. I find they help quite a lot when my hands start to play up and I wear them all night also. They are a bit expensive though.

They're excellent. Use them when I'm singing to hold up the music, and they really help.

They seem to work for some, but not others. I found them very painful to wear. Then I came across a paper that found that it it likely the warmth that makes them feel as if they work. ampersandhealth.co.uk/myart...

And the actual paper here: bmcmusculoskeletdisord.biom...

Yes, I’ve got the ones by Dr Arthritis, I don’t wear them all the time. Sometimes in bed and if it’s cold. I think it’s the heat that helps and I like the feeling of ‘firmness’ of them. Worth trying they will either help or they won’t.

I find compression gloves do help when my hands are in pain or are weak. They provide some heat and support.

Yes. I sleep with them on and they reduce the swelling which helps the pain and stiffness in the morning.

Sometimes my fingers feel like sausages in a frying pan trying to burst their skin. In those times compression gloves are great.

I have compression gloves for day time first pair supplied by hospital pyshio but I’ve had to buy my own since they only last 2-3 months and I’ve had to resow the seams I wear them most of the time during the day . That are expensive to keep buying between 23 and 25 pounds a pair. I also wear brown silk gloves at night and I have splints to wear at night to help stop my fingers curling in

Hi, yes I have used them for years! I love my compression gloves. I buy the open ended ones and they keep my hands warm and supported and don’t hamper things I do at all. I have several pairs and can do housework, gardening and writing whilst wearing them. I even wear them to bed sometimes! They last a good while and are not thick or restrictive and wash easily too. My arthritis is mostly in my hands, which have lost a lot of their flexibility and grip, and when I have a flare the gloves are a real comfort. Of course that’s just my experience but you don’t have to spend a lot on them - my first pair were expensive but I have since found that even the cheap ones work as well and you can even wear them underneath ordinary gloves or mittens when it’s really cold. Definitely worth giving them a try! x

yes I have. I wear them all the time, more so on my right hand as it does more work and holds a walking stick.. I bought them online and they are less obvious than the black and red ones supplied by hospital . Just gives enough support .

Hi there. I wear some from Dr Arthritis from Amazon. They don't compress the joints that much, particularly after they've been worn a few times after being washed, but they provide a lot of comfort, somehow just knowing they're on and that I'm looking after myself in that way makes me feel better. I wear mine all the time because I have very mild Raynauds, and by the time summer arrives and I don't need them as much my hands are pale due to the lack of sun, I can't complain about that because it slows down the aging ;) and they soon go back to their normal colour.Occasionally if my knuckle is playing up I'll stuff a cotton pad down the glove to cover it and keep it warmer which feels nice.
