lipid panel blood results

my daughter aged 16 has jia, she has stoped humira and is starting toc infusions her lipid blood results have come back high and we have been referred to a consultant( she is under uclh) has anyone else experienced this?

Unfortunately I haven’t but just wanted to say hello. I have 17 year old daughter with JIA. She’s just started a JAK inhibitor.

Hello, I hope it works for her, how old was she when diagnosed? My daughter was 2.

She was 11. I think it was puberty which triggered it. My RA was triggered after her birth so I think hormones plays a big part in both of our disease activity.

Yes they definitely do, my daughters has got a lot worse since puberty.

Yes I do. I found out that humira and methotrexate can raise your cholesterol.

Did they treat you for high lipid test ? Or did it go down on its own?

I'm still on them both so my GP persuaded me (after a year of me delaying) to go on a statin. I've no side effects and it has bought my cholesterol down.

Thank you, that’s what I’m worried they’ll try to put my daughter on. I will have to wait and see.
