Hi has any one had any flares after these vaccines. GP Practice slow so will have to chase. Had the flu one OK had to go to pharmacy as Gp had stopped doing them. Bit concerned about Covid one and RA flares.

Hi. Have never had flares at all after any vaccines and I’ve had eight Covid vaccinations and recently had a second Pneumovax shot. We are all different but I do hope you don’t have any problems. Best of luck.

I had flu & covid jab on 23rd September and I have not been right since. Honestly, next year I don’t think I’ll have them

I wish I’d stopped at two…I went on & had four…but then with the full agreement of my rheumy I stopped.

I think it’s something we need to discuss with our rheumy team…& not just presume more is better.

Hi. I flare after every vaccine no matter which one. I think it is just a shock to the system. They usually last a couple of weeks.

I will never have a covid vaccine again. It triggered my RA in the first place, no question. I was talked into having another one and went into awful flare lasting six months until I started stronger meds.

No nothing like that. Jab number 7 recently I decided to have it on the same day as the flu jab. Never again knocked me for 6 for a day. All 6 Covid jabs I've never had a reaction.

Yes welsh12, my last vaccine for covid was Omicron a few weeks ago, think brand name was Strike Vax. It kicked off my RA good style and a couple of weeks before that, I'd had the pneumonia vaccine. Felt awful for days, had no energy and breathless symptoms seemed to get worse. Don't think I've recovered yet and the cold damp weather is having its effects as well.

I did get offered the shingles vaccine as well, but I thought it was in error because I'm not 70 or over. Apparently they are offering a non live vaccine for a wider age group now, but the changed it to pneumonia vaccine when I got to the surgery. I'm holding off on the shingles one for now.

I would get the shingrix vaccine, because having had shingles, I hope I never get it again. Three years later, I've still got neuralgia pain. Altjough the shingrix vaccine made me feel lousy for a few days.

I'd never had a flare up with any of the covid vaccines until the last booster I had in May. Rheumatology put it down to post covid booster flare up. It happened about 5 days after I had it. It lasted 3 months and i was in a lot of pain. I had a couple of steroid injections which didn't work, but the third steroid inj did the trick. It has put me off having another covid injection, even though I was fine with the others.

Yes. I had COVID booster and Shingrix vaccine in the same week in October. I stopped MTX for two weeks as advised by my Rheumy team. I'm now in my third week of a flare. Saw nurse yesterday and she spoke to the consultant who said that this is the likely reason for the flare. They gave me a steroid shot to see if this will help things settle down. I've got another appointment next month to review the situation. Obviously I don't know which caused the issue or if it's just a combo of vaccinations and stopping MTX. I had only just started to feel the benefit of MTX so am very disappointed to be taking this backwards step. I'm not sure how I feel about future jabs but I've read that the shingles one is very important.

I'm another lucky one who has had no adverse reactions to any vaccines. I have great sympathy for those who have but just wanted to post to say that this is just another example of us all reacting so differently to things when we have this condition which makes it all the harder to cope with.
