Probably not though it depends on what medication you are on. If you’ve only two doses left of your antibiotics and you’ve been off your medication stay off it until you’ve finished the course so you know that the infection has cleared completely. Hope you are repaired soon.

sorry Martin we can’t answer medical questions, what did your doctor say when they gave you it? It would depend on what drugs you’re talking about so I’d give your doctor a call tomorrow.

I’ve always been told to wait till 48hrs after completing antibiotics, to ensure it’s cleared up, before restarting immunosuppressants

Hi Martin.

Do seek your Rheumy team’s advice before you restart your medication.

I know that I have to wait 3 days after finishing antibiotics before I can restart mine (Tocilizumab).

Hi Martin I would speak to your rheumy team about this. I can only say that I was told to leave at least a weak to 10 days between the last day of antibiotics and re starting medication again.

I think it is really ridiculous that we don't know what to do and no one tells us. You will just have to call the doctor and ask. I know leflunimide stays in the system so long that there is no sense in withholding a dose while methotrexate is much more short lived.
