Thanks.

Hello property2 - I'm not on Methotrexate (I had to stop due to side effects) and was only diagnosed with inflammatory arthritis earlier this year. However, I've been having the flu and other vaccines including all the Covid ones for many years due to 2 other autoimmune diseases. There is a recent post in the forum where someone else asked a similar question (I'll see if I can link it), and I put a more detailed response on that thread.

Well…it seems to be happening to a lot of people…try to have a word with your rheumy nurse & get her opinion.

It could be the vaccine triggering a flare or it could be stopping methotrexate that’s caused it (or a combination of the both). Hope it settles quickly.

I had a massive flare when I had it & now refuse to have anymore… I can remember the Rheumy saying how he’d had lots of referrals even though the patients didn’t have an autoimmune disease, all down to the vaccine.. I hope you start to feel better soon.. This is a topic that’s been chatted about in the past all with different outcomes, some no issues & others experiencing flares etc..,

You're not actually supposed to have them together, I was told this by my doctor and I have it in writing. Flu and Covid vax should be at least 7 days apart. The staff at my hospital, last year and this year have had to have time off after having both vaccines together. This affects people without autoimmune diseases the same way too. Could be your response to having both together.

I would think so. The shot messes with your immune system. People who have flares already have a messed up very fragile immune system. That’s why after I did research I did not get the shot.

I had Covid and would rather have had Covid than ever having a flare. I pray I never have a flare again. They are the worst thing I have ever experienced. When I had Covid it was like the flu and was very tired for a couple months It was my experience that the Flares are much much worse.
