After effects of covid vaccination (AstraZeneca)

I wonder what after effects people with rheumatoid have had following their first vaccination for covid. I had mine on 1st Feb, the following day I slept with a feeling of prickly skin, some nausea and generally rough with aches and pains. I slowly improved during the week but with a feeling of fatigue now a month on I still have sore joints and less energy than before the jab. I have completed a Yellow Label report. I now feel rather anxious about having the second vaccination. Did anyone else have lasting after effects?

I had a very similar reaction. I have assumed increased fatigue and joint issues are probably because my immune system is working hard to make the Covid antibodies I want from having the vaccination. 🤞🏻

I had uncontrollable shivering during the night which was gone by the morning but my head was really bad and that lasted a few days. I had nausea for a few days and also muscle aches for a week. I was quite fatigued for about a fortnight after and then it eased off. I will probably have the second vaccine though in spite of it. I think you've done the right thing in reporting your after effects.

Having mine tomorrow so I‘ll let you know! If it makes you feel better about the second vaccine, just wanted to let you know that I watched something yesterday in which the lead investigator from the Oxford/Astra Zeneca trial said that the first jab seemed to provoke more side effects than the second, whereas the Pfizer one seems to be the other way round.

In my personal opinion as vaccines are known factors in triggering autoimmune conditions. Your chances against the a natural coronavirus is better than risking an untested vaccine that’s not FDA approved and in trials until 2023. Meaning everyone taking now, is the experiment.

I’m a RA sufferer and won’t be risking being a trial subject.

Wishing you good health if you go for it or not 🙏🏼

I had the Astra veneca one yesterday pm . So far, sore arm and achy joints and slight headache . My joints always hurt anyway , but feel exhausted . This seems very common after this vaccine from what others are saying. Guess it’s doing it’s job of keeping us safe .

I was absolutely freezing the night I had the Astra Zeneca and had a flare of my RA and Fibro for a couple of days but I expected that. The relief of having had the vaccine, far outweighed any pain afterwards. x

I had mine about 4 weeks ago - had no reaction whatsoever, apart from the injection site being a little achy for a few days.

On the other hand - my wife had the vaccine 2 weeks ago, and she was really ill afterwards. She had a fever and uncontrollable shaking, nausea, headache, the whole lot - however it only lasted for about a week.

She is definitely worried about getting the second one, but I think that these effects of the vaccine have to be better than the alternative of catching COVID right?

I had a sore arm and a bit of a headache (but that could have been homeschooling!) and that was it. I actually WANTED to have more of a reaction as I’d feel like it was working. I’m not sure if my immune system has responded to it unfortunately ☹️

I had my Oxford Astra Zeneca jab ten days ago. The weekend before I had a flare and, although it had settled several days before the jab, the day after the jab I was in flare again. It gradually got better over the next three days. Apart from this, I had the sore arm, a headache and generally felt slightly off colour for a day or two. Small price to pay for whatever protection it gives from Covid.

I had AZ vaccination 4 days ago and had no side effects other than an achy arm for a day around the site of the injection. 👍 Everybody is different I guess.

I had the AZ nearly 4 weeks ago with no side effects at all - my arm was only tender to touch for a few days. Just hoping it has worked. I'd definitely take my chances with the vaccine any day rather than risk covid. Have asthma, COPD and scarring of lungs due to RA and often end up in hospital with pneumonia if I get a chest infection so really afraid of catching this virus. Lets hope it has worked well for all of us and the second dose is better for those who have had side effects. Take care everyone!

Had the Pfizer vaccine almost 3 weeks ago and have been feeling tired but this has improved a bit. Had bloods done 2 weeks after vaccine and neutrophils a bit down, not sure if it’s related to vaccine?
