how long did you stop your arthritis meds when you had shingles? The a and e doc told me I could restart the Rinvoq once the blisters had crusted over…I’m keen not to be off it for too long …

Thanks in advance all

I was given same advice. Different meds, but stop until blisters crusted over. I rang my biologics nursing team, who advised.

Hi. Suggest you take the doctor’s advice. He/she’s the expert and being off Rinvoq for a week or two isn’t going to make a lot of difference. I’m on Filgotinib - a similar JAK -and have been on and off like a merry-go- round over the past few months due to bronchitis and tooth infections. Happens all the time - you just pick up where you left off. All best.

I didn’t but was prescribed half dose Acylovir for about 3 years as too young to get Shingrex jab at the time. Then the RA consultant wrote to my GP at my request and I as allowed it but advised only 75 % effective and it can still reoccur. The age limit has now reduced but if you young it’s worth asking about a vaccine.
