I felt good for 2 whole days and last night my throat got scratchy again just like it was a week ago. Then I woke up this morning to my very first stiff shoulder. It is awful, I can't raise my arm even up to my shoulder.
The weather here has been rainy and cloudy and very windy, but the tornadoes missed us. I always get stiff when it rains, especially when it is cold still. The lightening was beautiful though.
Tomorrow night is my last Chip (health) class, then we'll have a healthy potluck next Thursday at 'graduation'. I'm glad that it is almost over, but I will miss it & the friends that I made there. They were a great support to get me to eat healthier & to exercise more.
I need to go shopping tomorrow for another baby shower and for some food to take to our Singles get-together on Sat night.
Hope that a good night's sleep will fix my shoulder and kick this cold back to the curb.

Christine, hope you feel better when you get up. I have had a lot of trouble with my chest and i am waiting the results of blood tests and i don't feel very clever today. I will ring the gps this morning and get an appointment.
got same problem with my throat very dry n sore told my nurse she said it was cos of the inhalers l take, and l contact the astham nurse and she told me it was one of the side affects, and just to keep drying or boil sweets, but at night l wake sometimes and my mouth feels like its a desert lol
Have you tried Biotene dry mouth gel? I use that in the night, just grab the tube in the dark and squirt some on my tongue. Have to be careful I don't grab the anti-inflam cream though, as that tastes revolting!
Hello Christine so glad that the tornados missed you i saw the destruction they left on the tv this morning - hope sleep comes tonight and you loose that nasty cold.
I don't think you understand what RA is. Echinacea for example is damaging for many of us as it boosts the immune system, which is exactly what we don't need. Many of us do use complementary medicines and foods to help us, but we really don't need people who aren't properly informed trying to promote their own products.
I have now had a chest and bronchial infectio.6weeks and in hospital 8 days. MTX and Sulfasalizine stopped. Sooooo ill. Had 2 rounds of antibiotics before coming to hospital. Needed steroids more antibiotics and nebs also sprays. Immune wise i am so compromised. Never been so ill. Getting home by weekend I hope. Xxxx anyone else gotten this bad? Shocked how ill I got so quickly and could not shake it.
Hi Englishmama, I had one bad year in 2001 when I was on Asulfazine; I had pneumonia twice & also bronchitis twice that year. I got so sick that I ended up in the hospital for 11 days because I had NO white blood cells and they told me that I was allergic to sulfa.
One of the problems was I'm allergic to penicillin and sulfa products. It's going to be a long treck back. I was at the rhumatologist consultant yesterday and he's said he was happy for me to be put back on MTX but a lower dose. Back on sulfasalazine also. Lots of sprays and steroids. Feeling somewhat better but so tired. These drugs have also affected my teeth and gums. Not a happy bunny.
Hi Pam, if you are allergic to sulfa (I am too) why is your Dr putting you back onto the Sulfasalazine? That doesn't sound good. What reaction do you get from sulfa?
