A m sure that lots of us are prescribed Meloxicam and a PPI to protect stomach, in my case Omeprazole. I was just wondering if the timing of the drugs matters. I usually take Omeprazole first thing and Meloxicam with evening meal, although never given any advice on how to take it. Just wondered if that is the most effective timings and what others do. Thanks.

Omeprazole and Meloxicam
I was taking Omeprazole each day and then I read about the fact you shouldn’t stay on it long term . So I enquired and I am now taking a new one called Famotidine . I also take Allopurinol. I take together in the mornings.
Thank you, I will now raise that with my GP.
I’ve been on Omeprazole for years and haven’t had any long term issues. I take my meloxicam and omeprazole together at breakfast.
somewhere on the Omeprazole leaflet it talks about not taking it for too long .
they say it effects your memory if you take for extended time, they switched me to famotidine
my Dr told me omeprazole should b taken on an empty stomach half an hour before anything with milk or it ruins the action. I have been on Esomeprazole for years and now they want me to take cimetidine at night too due to acid reflux
Hi Wobbies I take 40mg of Omprezole each morning to protect my stomach against the harshness of the other medication. I would say "that you are doing the right thing!".
Take Care x
I take omeprazole with my other morning tablets.
