Magnesium

Has anyone on lansoprazole had problems with blood Magnesium Levels, causing symptoms of fatigue and loss of appetite. I am on 20mgm MXT weekly and lansoprazole 30mgm daily , the latter for about 2 months, the MXT for years thank you

Please contact your GP or RA team and explain these symptoms and get a blood test , it may be nothing at all but best to be sure.

I did, then dr put me on pantopraze with magnesium. In Canada it is Tecta.

thank you, but I believe this PPI can weaken bones and I already have Osteoporosis

Its not advised to take then together.

That says high dose, only given very low dose for RA.

A friend of mine who's partners got an autoimmune disease and on a pretty low dose of mtx told his GP this and he was then prescribed a different stomach protector.

Lansoprezole is not recommended with mtx as it interacts and causes side effects to increase and lessons efficiently of mtx. I've been on mtx 25 years and always been told it must be omeprezole. I'm the lady Paula C is referring to as my partner has just started mtx for Myasthenia Gravis and was on lansoprezole. After me pointing it out the GP confirmed he needed it changing to omeprezole. He is quite sensitive to meds ,only 5mg mtx so far, it was quite important to get it right. I also have osteoporosis and on Alendronic acid.
