Only just seen your post so a bit late in replying…. I’ve found that Black Rock hydroxychloroquine is the only alternative to Zentiva that I can tolerate, but that’s also hard to get. I may be wrong but I think they originally made them for Zentiva. I was given Quinoric years ago when the chemist couldn’t get hold of Zentiva (or Plaquenil as it was then) saying it was just the same and it made me so ill…. My prescriptions from GP now name Zentiva but I know most times I’m going to have to search around to get them. It’s a great worry.
Ive just received my two months supply of zentivia hydroxy from my local chemist. I can tolerate any brand but really do prefer this one. Been lucky for the last six months. (Touch wood) it continues.
I’m using Zentiva too. Didn’t have an issue picking them up last month. I’ve had another generic with no issues apart from one Quinoric! Avoid it like the plague, it tastes disgusting and made me so nauseous! Hope the supply issue settles soon. M x
I have had my delivery of Zentiva this week - no problems. I remember that some years ago there was a problem with supply but there were rumours that they were more expensive and difficulties with supply was just an excuse. At the time it was thought that having Zentiva specified on prescriptions helped. Quinoric was the one that caused problems - apparently due to the coating that is used. This was a long time ago.
