Here in NZ I can’t get the new booster shot before I go because it’s been 2weeks short of 6 months since I had Covid. So of course feeling pretty nervous. I have well controlled CLL on ibrutinib. When planning the trip it seemed likely I’d get the booster but there’s the 6 months rule.
I’m wondering if I’m unlucky enough to catch Covid in Italy, Croatia, Germany , Austria if I will be able to get an antiviral. I’d appreciate any advice please

Hi Zoe. I don't know if you realise but you've posted on the NRAS forum not the CLL forum. It's fine if you meant to post here but I thought I'd mention it in case you hadn't realised. 😊
thank you and yes I have the helpline. It’s just that a friend broke her leg there and the problem for her was the language barrier…I need to learn Italian quick.
lots of translation apps available. Amd make sure you write your drugs down - the drug name not the brand name.
Hi, I would go to your GP and explain your situation., I am sure they would make an exception for the sake of a couple of weeks, especially as you are travelling with a compromised immune system.
My only suggestion is that you buy ‘proper’ masks for your trip, as presumably you will be travelling to tourist areas, which will be busy with people from everywhere. Enjoy your trip. Croatia is quite ridiculously stunning 😍.
thank you Criplady. I tried my GP who said no one would give me the booster being 2 weeks short….this is NZ the nanny state!!! Yes looking forward to the trip. It’s all about going to Drivnk on the Croatian coast, my grandads village that he left 100years ago when he was 14 . There’s a very charming movie Faraway that is set on the coast you may enjoy it
I live in canada. I was going away and wanted to get my booster for the trip. I showed up to the booster clinic and on the spot they let me take it the two or 3 weeks in advance since I was already there…
thank you for your reply you’re much more civilised that us down under!!!! Ours is just about down to getting it right down to the hour!!! Or at least the exact day .
