How long to wait before having Covid & flu jabs?

Good day. I came out of hospital once again yesterday afternoon, my third admission in less than 2months. Because of this I missed having my flu jab & my Covid booster(my 6th jab). I asked the hospital doctor if I could get them done now but he said no & that I need to wait 6 weeks before getting them done & that seems a very long time to wait to me. Has anyone else been asked to wait so long? I have just had Covid.

1 month is recommended for Covid jab after you have had it. I had covid Sept 8th and had jab 5 weeks later (own delay). No idea about the flu though.

I think it’s best to listen to what the doctor said, you’ve been admitted to hospital so he probably wants you to let your body recover.

There's very little said about natural immunity as protection, but if you've just had covid, you'll have it and experts say it'll be good for the next 6 months, so really no need to rush towards the covid vaccine.

I do wish the advice provided everyone with far more comprehensive information when it comes to these vaccines and not a "one size fits all" message ie "Get it as soon as you are offered it".

As we all know, some of us don't produce any antibodies at all, but there's no mention of this in the guidance, nor is there any mention of natural immunity. I receive daily texts from the NHS inviting me to book an appointment and, although I realise these are probably generated automatically, it is becoming a tad annoying.

Find out why the doctor wants you to wait, then deep research it.

In the u.s., 3 months is when natural immunity from having covid lasts, they say (therefore no need to be protected twice when once will do).

I bet if you asked your rheumatologist she/he would say go ahead. They love meds

I had mine about 6 weeks after having covid. My understanding in the Uk is 4 weeks after you have recovered from covid. It took me 12 days to test negative. Follow the advice of your Dr. who knows more about your recovery.
