Being on Cimzia I've had 5 vaccinations. On Saturday evening however I started to feel unwell, bit of tickle in my throat and a cough. Didn't feel too good overnight and breathing was a bit more of an effort than normal, so wasn't surprised when the LFD was positive. Phoned the NHS Grampian Covid number and answered a few questions and was told I would get a call back from one of the pharmacy team.
The call came a couple of hours later and after a lengthy discussion of my current medication it was agreed that I would be prescribed Paxlovid. The prescription was sent to a local pharmacy but being Sunday wouldn't be able to be collected until Monday. Was advised that I if had any concerns I was to call 111 or 999. My wife passed away on Hogmanay so I'm now on my own. I thought it would make sense to get a bag ready in case I had to go to hospital. Much easier to organise things when I was fit than when I was struggling. My bedroom is downstairs, going upstairs to get stuff was an effort.
My sister picked it up for me on Monday and I had the first dose at 10.30. That morning I was feeling like I had a really bad cold. My chest was a little uncomfortable. I felt quite tired and had a couple of snoozes during the day.
This morning I woke up feeling a bit better still a bit tired but breathing and my chest is easier. Only side effect from the Paxlovid seems to be an odd taste in my mouth.
