I have a heavy cold following recovery from Covid which I can’t seem to shift, I am interested to know whether anyone else has had a similar experience.

Regards

it took me a few weeks to recover from Covid after testing negative. You don’t say how long it’s been but you could of course have caught another virus whilst recovering fully.

Thank you, TBH it’s only been a couple of weeks since testing negative so I guess I just have to be patient.

I had a couple of months with heavy cold after COVID, not feeling well and recently was given a course of B12 injections.

I guess it took me a month to recover from covid. Silly question but have you tested again ? I got a secondary covid infection after 5 days of being negative but the secondary covid positive only lasted about 3 days. Rebound infections are more common than you think and I only knew because of a full blown cold symptoms again.

Thank you, yes I retested after about a week of being negative and got a very feint positive line for a couple of days so maybe I have had a slight reinfection. Interesting!

Well if you’re negative again now you should start to improve. I kept taking paracetamol and using lemsip for the sinus cold symptoms and it went away eventually. I had a word with my immunology consultant about rebound infections and she seemed to think it would only be a one off. I took antivirals for 3 days couldn’t tolerate them for longer due to side effects. She said it may or may not be because of antivirals that it came back. My secondary infection was strongly positive so was absolutely no doubt I was reinfected. Interestingly enough I paid for an antibody test and my antibodies were above 25,000 which is very good so I’m hoping my immune system will give me a little respite for a while for covid at least.
