How are you Mmrr?
She posted a couple of days ago darling with a post Happy new year form Scotland.xxxxx
Thankyou for asking.I'm still in hospital, still waiting for the medial branch nerve blocks to happen.
Hopefully on 4/1 🤞
My bloods have been poor, so after badgering the neurology team they contacted rheumatology who stopped my leflunomide again. The old aches and pains are getting worse.
It's just a waiting game just now. But noone gets the rheumatology issues, no idea the need to get my oral prednisolone on time in the morning...it's 8.55 am I still waiting for my morning dose.
But the staff are generally good and kind.
Glad you are still there. Pity they can't let you manage your own medication.🤞 for 4th
I’m pleased you are there, even though it’s been a long wait.
The medication joke thing can be a pain, waiting for meds that are time specific or before food etc.
I find it a bit of a joke really.
I’ve got loads of medication at home- morphine patches Nintendanib etc the list goes on.
I was in hospital recently for 2 days. I wasn’t offered any meds at all.
All Ihad was codeine, which I sneaked into the toilet to take,I had the impression that if I’d had asked staff it would have taken ages to sort out.
Ver well done xx
I had a poor day yesterday RA wise. Evening blood pressure is normally taken around 9.30 - 10.pmThe nurse didn't appear, so I lay down, put my lights out (single room) fell asleep to be awakened at 11.05, lights put on, loud voice I just need to take your BP.
I was dazed, I must have been in a deep sleep. I asked if my BP could be taken a little earlier...I have RA, 11pm is too late for sleep along with the early awakening. He said he would see what he could do for tonight. I've no idea why he was so late last night.
Meds are a joke.
oh I’ve done the sneaking into the toilet as well lol. I asked for my anti sickness tablet as I was starting to feel nauseous, the nurse said I couldn’t have it for another 20 minutes, I had some in my bag so off I went. Just as well as she didn’t come back.
it’s just so difficult, the staff don’t always seem to understand what you say to them.
At the beginning of December I was admitted from A N E for 2 days.
I’d collapsed in the bathroom.
Due to my diagnoses they wanted to find out what was happening.
After 24 hours in A N E,iwas transferred to an old ladies ward.
They were all over 90. Im 70
I wasn’t really bothered About the age thing, I was happy to be in a bedI was a bit bothered by the fact that if I a spoke to the staff as they walked past,I had to speak twice before they heard me ,I only spoke to them if needed something,no hope of a conversation.
We got loads of tea and coffee, which was good.
Otherwise the conversation was along the lines of #well give you a nice wash#
I was asked if I wanted a shower,I said yes,but I didn’t have any soap/towels.
Nothing more was said. No washing equipment arrived
As I said to husband .at least I know what awaits in my future, take care everyone xxx
Hi
I had flu and tonsillitis so not been on line much
It's so annoying they mess meds up when you're in hospital. Would they do that with kidney dialysis or cancer treatment? Surely not... Good to hear from you Mmrr. Xx
I really had to stand my ground to get my night time meds at 8 pm rather than 10 pm. But got it sorted by asking to speak to the ward Dr. and explained why. I take my RA meds at 8 and 8. I am often asleep at 10.The nursing staff do an 8 pm drug round anyway, the problem seemed to be it is the night staff who settle the patients.
As it turns out, I don't always see the night staff. Yesterday evening I saw a HCA who gave me a cup of tea at 8.30 pm, I went to sleep , apart from being up to the loo x2, the next thing I knew the day staff are knocking on my room door with breakfast at 8 am.
