Result Covid 19 positive.

Beverleyo profile image

Dear all,

I received my result this morning from yesterday’s PCR Covid test which has come back positive.

I had pneumonia last February 2020 and was very unwell until April 2020.

Tests for Covid 19 we’re not being done at this early stage as it was a new virus that we were all just hearing about.

I had a Covid 19 Antibody test later on in 2020 which showed a positive result for Covid 19 Antibodies. I had been shielding most of 2020.

I had my first Covid 19 vaccination in February this year 2021 and my 2nd vaccination 3 months ago mid April 2021.

Last week I attended Rheumatology for a R.A follow -up appointment and I also received a new diagnosis for Fibromyalgia a difficult day,

Over the next few days I continued to have a lot of pain in my joints, some swelling and nerve pain.

My symptoms advanced quickly and included severe headache , sore throat, stomach cramps, loss of appetite, all over body pain, cold sweats, loss of taste, nausea, cough, fever and sleepiness.

It felt like I had a severe case of the flu but it’s only July so thought it best to have a Covid 19 PCR test. This came back positive this morning .

After shielding which was until May 2021 until I had received both jabs, I started going out more but have continued being really careful with masks, hand washing and gel etc.

I really don’t understand how I can feel this unwell after already having the Antibodies from a previous infection and having both vaccinations.

I have now stopped all my immunosuppressant medications until fully recovered.

Please all be careful even if you have received both vaccinations.

Good luck all.

Beverley

Dear Beverleyo, I’m sorry you feel so dreadful even after all your shielding and 2 vaccinations and wish you a speedy recovery. It is certainly worrying to know this can happen and frankly makes me even more angry and concerned about the lifting of mitigations next week.Thank you for making us all aware and please do keep in touch. Hope you feel better very soon.

Gentle hugs x

Sorry to hear this Beverly, I hope you continue to improve and feel better soon.

A timely warning as things open up, for all of us. X

Oh gosh I’m sorry to hear you had such a hard time. It is worrying that you got Covid a second time and after vaccination. Have you managed to work out how you could have got it recently? Was it at your hospital? I think I would want to try to find out so I could try to prevent another occurrence in future.

Hope you feel better soon.

Thank you. 😊

My daughter who started to experience similar symptoms a day after me also tested positive yesterday. My granddaughter’s class were sent home from school after a case at her primary school was discovered. My granddaughter tested negative.

I did spend a day with them at their home last week but

will never know if she passed it on to me or me to her.

My other daughter who lives at home with me and who has not yet been vaccinated at all has tested negative and is well thankfully.

I believe we are all at risk anywhere and from anybody.

We all need to keep our guard up at all times.

I agree. I’ve now started “double masking” if I’m out and about near others.

I’m using a mask with filter option. Glad I bought those.

I put two filters in my mask if I have to attend any appointments.

I've got one of those too. I made it to match my "mother of the bride" outfit and bought the filters to put in it. I'm wondering whether to upgrade to a mask of the N95 or FFP1 type, which give better protection to the wearer.

I am so sorry to hear this Beverly as you have been and are through so much. Sending my very best to you and wishing you well soon xx

Goodness Beverleyo, I'm really sorry to hear what you've been going through, you've really had a rotten time. I hope you will soon feel much better and thanks for the warning. This makes the government's latest advice look even more worrying! All the best. xx

I'm so sorry to read this and pray for your swift recovery. xx

You’re not having much luck are you. That must be quite rare . Wishing you a speedy recovery. Look after yourself 🤗

I hope you feel better soon. thanks for he warning - it will motivate us to be careful now that we are to use 'personal responsibility'. After the football madness I have not got much confidence in the levels of responsible behaviour we can expect from a large section of the public .

Hi Beverley, that’s rotten luck and I hope you are due for some good luck now. I hope you feel improvement soon. 💗🙏🏻

That is just very discouraging indeed for you, Beverley. Your (private?) antibodies test was likely more reliable than any PCR test.

I was suddenly in hospital in March this year with pneumonia in spite of doing everything advised and staying away from everyone, not eating out etc. During lockdown though, so far more people free to be around wherever I went to ‘quiet’ spaces.

The vaccines should give you protection from severe Covid requiring hospitalisation. It is airborne as well as landing on iems we touch so the chances of catching it still exist.

So sorry to hear how very ill you feel but hope it lasts a short time. Take care of yourself. 💐

Hope you feel better soon Huney 🥰

Gosh, you have been through the mill, I sympathise having had Pneumonitis, the lifting of restrictions is all well and good but, nothing has been mentioned about the extremely clinically vulnerable, the category we fall under, and I am very worried about what is going to happen. This virus is new, and we don’t know enough about it. We think we are safe, having had the jabs, but are we really ? I do hope you feel better soon.

Thank you for informing as ........ a good reminder for everyone to do a reality check and not become complacent. Sorry you are feeling so low and wishing you a speedy recovery.x

Good grief you’ve had more than your fair share . It is worrying that even with being careful people are still getting it . I hope you feel better soon x

I am so sorry to hear this and hope that, although the vaccine did a poor job of protecting you from getting the virus, it will stop you getting seriously ill. Hope you are feeling better soon. Please let us know how you get on.

Hi Beverley,

I am really sorry to hear you are ill. I hope you start to feel better soon. Xxxx

Hi Beverley. It's horrible that you're going through this and it is worrying. I am hearing this more often. A cousin of my husband had both jabs and ended up in hospital after testing positive for Covid. He's a very careful man, always wears his mask except at home. His daughter who lives with him came down with it several days later. He has no idea where he picked it up, nor does she. He suffers with hayfever but has no other underlying conditions. I really feel the wearing of masks should have been mandated because even now, when restrictions are still in place, people are still picking up the virus. Hope you recover quickly Beverley.

I am sorry you are feeling so unwell and shocked that after all the shielding, vaccines etc you still caught covid. This is all very worrying. It just proves that we are very much at risk even with all the safety procedures we put in place. Next monday makes it even more worrying. I feel we have been thrown into the see without a life jacket. God help us.

I hope you get well soon. And from the looks of it, your infection doesn’t warrant a hospital admission god forbid. Are you on Rituximab by any chance?

I always double mask. It’s so important! Lately not many people are wearing one. I’d be at the shop and someone would literally be breathing down my neck with no mask on. Also a new study in US by MIT concluded that we can get infected by droplets that linger in the air from as far away as 60 feet. Best of luck.

Nb. And this comes from my personal experience with a friend. He developed Covid and had very mild symptoms that lasted for barely 3 days. Unfortunately he passed away on the 10th day from a blood clot in his lungs. I strongly suggest you discuss taking a high dose of blood thinners with your GP, even if they tell you that the science doesn’t back it up. Some Covid patients had literally zero anti clotting agents in their blood work. Once the clots are formed there’s nothing to break them up and they can travel in the blood stream and cause havoc. Sorry for sounding too alarming but the experience I had with my friend is something everyone should know about.

Hi, I’m very sorry to hear about your friend.I am having regular checks and have been told what to look for as there are still risks concerning clots.

Did your friend have any symptoms?

Hi, This Covid recovery is so changeable.when you think your on the road to recovery, results from tests start showing there is more going on.

Oh I'm so sorry to hear this u have been through the mill. Wishing you a speedy recovery and a stark warning to all take extra care esp from the 19th.

Dont know about freedom day more like hide away day.

😣 xxxx

Hope you get better soon Beverleyo.

Sorry you feel rotten and hope it will improve soon. We'll have to carry on being very careful.

Dear Beverleyo, I am sorry to hear that you are going through so much. Please know that you are in my prayers. Get well soon😍

Oh Beverley really sorry to hear that and hope you recover soon. A very good lesson for us all to be careful as all the restrictions are eased. Take care.

Hope you feel better soon 💐💕

I’m torn between being glad others can get on with their lives, and fears that the vulnerable are now subject to ‘herd immunity’ and herd instinct to gather. I’m booked to drive up to Highgrove as a belated birthday treat, which should be unmitigated pleasure but I shall be taking a picnic for us both and keeping clear of other visitors. I hope you get well soon; thanks for the reminder that for us this is far from Over.

Hope that you recover very quickly. Keep well hydrated and take care🌺

I keep hearing of people double jabbed getting Covid again. I can’t bear it. I have lived like a hermit for the last 16 months having had Covid myself last March and been living with Long Covid ever since. I can easily see this happening to me. I just sincerely hope that you recover quickly with no lasting effects. Sending you positive thoughts.

Prayers for a quick recovery!

So the antibodies last about 6months I was being tested as part of a trial post covid I have had both vaccinations but I know that because of immunosuppressive medications they may not work as they do in others. Hopefully it will be mild because you have had the vaccinations. It's something that everyone on immunosuppressive therapy should know that despite vaccinations you potentially can still get it

Hi Bethany, I was hoping that My symptoms would be mild after becoming positive 12 weeks after 2nd Jab.

Unfortunately this was not the case after taking a turn for the worse on day 10.

I have been informed today that I have bilateral Covid pneumonia with consolidation. 😢..

My recovery now begins.

Keep safe x

Pfizer and BioNTech announced Thursday they are developing a Covid-19 booster shot intended to target the delta variant.Clinical studies could begin as early as August, subject to regulatory approvals.

Executives from Pfizer and BioNtech have repeatedly said people will likely need a booster shot, or third dose, within 12 months of getting fully vaccinated. They are no sure that covid can travel much more than two metered. There will be probably a booster every year

Thank you all so much for your get well wishes.I feel I have experienced my darkest days and hours. I have never felt so unwell.

I took a turn for the worst day 7 my temperature spiked every 3 hours day and night for 3 days.

I just found it hard to wake up.

Nasty lung infection on day 5 Antibiotics and Asthma medication.

I’m awake today and at home Ambulance was sent out twice that’s another story.

I actually had soup today the first thing I have eaten in the past 7 days.

Walking to the bathroom makes me breathless and I’m really trying to cough all this mucus up.

I now have a Covid team checking in on me.

I believe this is going to take sometime to get over

Please please please be careful out there.

I feel I never want to leave my home again, I think I’m still in shock this experience is just starting to affect me now.

Keep safe

How are you now Beverleyo? So sorry to hear how dreadfully I’ll you have been, despite vaccinations and being careful. Very best wishes to you for a good recovery. X

Thank you. I’m on the slow road to recovery.

Recent blood tests showed a abnormally high immune response and CT scan showed bilateral Covid pneumonia with consolidation affecting all lobes. 😢

It will take time and patience on my part, not so good at the patience

It’s just so lovely seeing my family again as I have felt so vulnerable and isolated.

We all need to take extra care out there. X

Get better soon. Sender best wishes.😊
