Methotrexate and heat

How is everyone storing their methotrexate in this heat? My biologics are in the fridge as standard but it is well over 25 degrees threshold for methotrexate.

There have been previous posts on this in precious hot years. I’ll try to find one!

I am lucky enough to have a cool store than never goes above 23 degrees. But you can put it in the fridge.

Edit. Here it is!

Thank you...you are an absolute angel 😇 Clearly I've been using the wrong search words.

Off to pop my methotrexate in the fridge. Wishing you a fab and pain-free day 🤗

Thanks for this - had no idea! 🙄 I keep mine in the wardrobe so I've stuck a thermometer in there to check the temperature when I go up for my (cool!) shower and may well bring them down and put them in the fridge.

I've just found a wine cooler I've not used in a while. Will use it for keeping the injections cool but not cold.

I've put mine in the fridge but will get one out a couple of hours before I inject. Hopefully this heat won't last for too much longer! 😅

I sure hope so too.

Crikey this never occurred to me! Mines been in my wardrobe which is in the coolest room. Just put in the fridge to be safe and ordered a cool bag from Amazon so I can store it on there now in the wardrobe. The amount of boxes the hospital gave me takes up a shelf in the fridge! Thanks so much for asking this question!

Yes, thank you for this thread and all the info. Hadn’t occurred to me at all although I expect there are warnings on the box……away from home until Sat so my MTX is cooking away nicely down south in the UK!! Oh dear!! Hope there is some leeway with that temperature storage range.

I'm sure it will be fine. Just check with your RA team or pharmacy 🤗

Thank you …..will try and track down a knowledgable pharmacist…no RA team, my rheumy just visits local hospital occasionally 😐

Great question , now I've seen the answers I have also popped mine in the fridge. I've put them in the top part of the fridge but not touching the back or sides, Biologic in the middle ...ha ha who knew my fridge would be full of meds and not much food !!

Flipping heck, I’ve got so many injections in the fridge already (biologics) that when I put my Metoject injections in there, there’s going to be no room for food or drink!!!
