Hi sorry I can’t remember who posted about bloating on oral methotrexate.
I suffered this but never made the connection between the two.
I’ve now been injecting methotrexate for 3 weeks and all bloating has gone lovely flat tummy😁 result

Result!
Agree . I take 15mg Mxt tablets and suffer from awful bloating and wind! 😬
It's interesting that you should say this because of some time now I have had this problem really badly and didn't connect it to taking Mtx, but now I think that it could be the reason for it because I didn't used to suffer like this and it can be very embarrassing. I also get a lot of constipation so I don't know if that is yet another side effect of it.
Yes I got that too. I was starving myself as I couldn’t get into my clothes although my weight was stable ( still over weight)😉
This resonates with me too. I was worried in case I'd got IBS but now you've got me thinking. Maybe its time to go back to injections or ask for something different.
I have been asking my rheumy for something different for years now but she says there isn't anything else, which just seems stupid to me. I just think that she can't be bothered.
Tell her the oral methotrexate doesn’t suit you and you would like to try injections. Be firm and if you do feel better on them then you’ve proved a point if not then you’ve lost nothing.
I can see what you mean J1707, but the thing is that I would like to try something different to Mtx altogether as I have now been on it for nearly seven years and during that time, I have got progressively worse. Much more pain and deformaties, yet she has never put me on anything else. I have asked time and again and she says there isn't anything else. I have asked about biologics as well as I feel sure that I would qualify for them but again she has said no. I am going to see her on Monday and am determined to be assertive this time. If I get nowhere, I will ask for a second opinion or will ask my GP to refer me to a different rheumy. I can't really see that taking Mtx in injection form would help me any more than the oral ones.
You could google ncbi.nlm.nih.gov, open PubMed, and see if there is anything useful for your condition. You can also look up methotrexate ( MTX ).
