A global group of rheumatologists are conducting a study to understand the long term safety of COVID-19 vaccines. If you are above 18 and have an autoimmune disease, please spare 5 minutes for this survey to help researchers answer this question. Do ask your healthy friends and family members to take part as well, to allow comparisons.
I gave up. The questions were very poorly worded. I didn't know if it meant did I have side effects after seven days or did I catch covid at some point at least seven days after (it says "symptoms" but the list on next page sounded like side effects from vaccine rather than covid, I found it hard to know). The layout of the questionnaire I found hard to use and I could click back to edit the previous page when the subsequent questions made it clear I'd misunderstood the previous one. When it said are my symptoms of (RA) worse after second vaccine did it mean shortly after or at any point ever after that date? My RA wasn't stable before the vaccine anyway and has continued to be unstable. I had to give up as I really didn't understand what the questions were asking and of the multiple choice questions several didn't have an option for my particular answer!
We have shared feedback from this survey with the developers. If you would like clarification on anything to do with this survey or study, please feel free to contact the researcher team at covadstudy@gmail.com
Hi Aribah-NRASI completed this survey although, as others have commented the Survey Monkey platform was not always easy to navigate. Moreover some questions were a bit ambiguous and could be interpreted in different ways.
I developed RA after being vaccinated with Pfizer cov19 , began treatment with methotrexate and steroids after second Pfizer cov19 vac and had a flare resulting in diagnosis of IBS and as yet undiagnosed (awaiting mri) spondiloarthropathy, after third Pfizer cov19.
This was difficult to explain in the survey but, I feel, pertinent to vaccine development.
I would be interested to know where to find out how this data is being used. Is there a link to the research site? Who is the point of contact for the research project?
