Well I saw my consultant at Nuffield yesterday I have to have shoulder revision as it’s no better after. Nearly a year 😔😳🤷‍♀️🙄I’m booked in for 6th April need it healed for my holiday in June

Being nosey here 😊. What does a shoulder revision involve?

Have you discussed your holiday dates with the surgeon?, if not I would do. I worked as an orthopaedic nurse for over 30 years. Revision surgery takes longer to recover from than the primary shoulder replacement. Our consultants used to say 3 month for flying after major orthopaedic surgery, due to the increased risk of clots. If you are allowed to fly take all precautions like flight socks and getting up and moving around if long haul flight. Hope surgery goes well and you get to enjoy your holiday 🤗

I’m not having a replacement love he never mentioned anything when I saw him yesterday 🤔

Apologies when you said you were having shoulder revision I assumed they were revising your joint replacement.

That's 8 weeks roughly post operative? , I was told from my recent knee that its three month after op for travel. I'd call the secretary and ask for advice , maybe you can put the holiday back , you'll want one when you recovered xxxx
