I am having to take Doxycyline antibiotics fir sinuses do I stop Methotrexate forgot to ask GP?

I’d give them a call back and ask as we can’t tell you what to do. I’ve had to stop for some antibiotics but not others so best to check.

It’s an individual thing. As well as which specific antibiotic it depends on your medical history, and things like age, how frail you are and how stable your disease is.

I have to come off Mtx when I take Doxy but we are all different people with other meds and well so I’d always check with your rheumy nurse. Good luck.

I had to take this antibiotic last week and was advised by rheumatology nurse and GP to hold methotrexate and biologics while I was taking antibiotic. Do double check with your own medical practitioner

Hi, I've just had to use my rescue pack co-amoxiclave and have to stop using my 💉 of MTX, if that's any help, I always stop if I'm on antibiotics my consultant told to do so If you read 📚 your instructions with the tablets it might tell you more about it. Good luck.

I have always been advised to stop when on antibiotics. My clinical summaries all have typed in bold to gp to stop biologics and dmard if I need antibiotics or antivirals. Does your summaries maybe have similar guidance

I was told to stop when I had those fir a sinus infection. But check with Rheumy nurse or gp. X

Have been on 2 different antibiotics whilst on mtx and was told that I could continue with mtx. However, this can vary with different people. Good luck. Hope your sinus infection clears soon.
