I have my Grand daughter, who has was found with Chordoma on her spine, about a year ago, she has kept herself the best she can and very much an independent girl. She and her sister went to to Mexico for the Christmas holidays, and on her return went to her GP for her usual treatment, and found that the growth is now larger, though she was on medication, at one time that helped shrink it for a bit.
My question is please, anyone out there, who may have an idea what is Chordoma, & how serious is this. She lives in Reading, in the UK, she will not allow anyone to live with her not even her sister or her Parents, as a result it is a very worrying situation, and I am wondering what one can do to help, besides, the medical attention she gets and the staff she meets at the Hospitals. Thank you very much for reading my note.

I'm sorry to hear about your granddaughter's diagnosis and hope that she gets successful treatment soon.
This is a forum for Rheumatoid Arthritis so there might not be anyone here with personal experiences of this particular challenge so maybe try to do a search on the whole healthunlocked site to find the right community to ask.
You will be relieved to know that living in Reading in U.K. , your granddaughter lives close to an excellent hospital & I’m sure the staff there will be overseeing her treatment very efficiently …& knowing that she lives alone will be keeping an eye on her. If she travelled to Mexico with her sister at Christmas….her doctors will have approved …so I’m sure when she has more news of her treatment she will let the family know.
Morning. If your grand-daughter is independent, she will wish to remain so. Remind her she is loved, read up on her illness, and let her know that you are there for her. That’s what people need x
