Hi, I moved to the MK area in 2020. I have attended MK hospital rheumy dept., and was advised to do this rather than the Bedford hosp. 🤷‍♀️ They seem well organised so far. The staff are friendly and listen. There is no manned hotline / advice line, but I understand you can contact them and request a call back .

Thank you so much for this info. I’m transferring from Nottingham and I’m so glad to hear MK is good. Do you mean I can call them direct rather than go via the Dr?

May I ask also, are you on a biologic via MK rheumatologist?

I am on MTX 20 mg injections and sulphasalazine. I dont know if you are aware that the nhs in this area do 'shared care' with the gps. So all blood tests are done at the local surgery and monitored by gps rather than the hospital. They are also the first point of contact . This eas very different to where we moved from .

For the first referral you will go via the gp. Will you be in MK central ?

Do you have any recommendations for a good GP in MK, please?

We are near Woburn, so use Asplands Medical Centre in Woburn Sands. They are very efficient, (particularly organised and quick to offer the vaccines and boosters) and we got personal phone calls when we first signed up with them . Hope this helps.
