Need to find a brilliant rheumatologist

Hi I’m really struggling to find a good rheumatologist in my area (south east, I could go to London). The one in my area that I was regerred to has been awful and unprofessional. Can anyone please recommend anyone they are really impressed with? Thanks

He works around Hastings, Eastbourne and Uckfield area..and does private work as well as NHS

Thanks he is quite far. But helpful though. I’m based in Haslemere so looking for someone about 45 mins away but would stretch to an hour for an amazing rheumatologist!

I have been going to him for about 16 years and since I have moved 50 miles away I still travel to see him

I am under Col Alan Mistlin who works out of Frimley Park Hospital and Aldershot hospital. I first had him under private care then when he put me on Biosimilar ( Benepali) I switched to him under NHS. He is very understanding and has a great positive attitude. His clinical nurse Jeanette Cameron is superb and always contactable by phone for inbetween issues!

I go to Medway Maritime Hospital Rhumatology, no problems at all. Have nice doctors, helpful nurses but an awful cafe.

Hammersmith Hospital (and Charing Cross Hospital, which is actually in Hammersmith!) are brilliant

Dr Shattles at either East Surrey or Horsham hospitals is brilliant. I use to be under the Royal Surrey but was recommended Dr Shattles ( by a surgeon) when my last Rheumatologist retired.

I’m sorry, I hope you find someone soon as. It’s hard when you’re rurally located. If you can do the cross country route I would highly recommend Horsham and Dr Shattles. Take care and good luck.
