Hello and welcome to the group Claire 😊 I would imagine it’s normal to use crutches whilst waiting for a hip replacement( though I haven’t had one personally) . I hope you’re not left waiting too long for it.

I used two crutches and was in pain all the time. My ball had completely collapsed. Have you got any painkillers? I had morphine patches that you changed every three days. I hope you get your operation soon x

I’ve on the same journey but mine not at the stage where I’m ready for an operation just yet. I’m dreading getting to your stage I also use two crutches. I also suffer pain all the time. I’ve got a long hot water bottle that helps for a short spell.

Hi Claire

Sorry to hear about your hip problems. I've had both hips replaced, one since revised, and waiting for the other to be done. Unfortunately, it's probably fairly normal to be in constant pain, using walking aids and relying on painkillers. That's certainly been my repeated experience, just like Ruth mentioned it was for her in her reply. I do hope you don't have to wait too long. As a bit of hope/re-assurance, following each of my ops, the improvement has been massive. Good luck 🤞X
