Biologic issues/Kent area?

Hi, anyone else having problems getting their biologic prescriptions on time based in North Kent/Medway? Have had to chase Lloyds Clinical Homecare who have been blaming the hospital. Script now done but looking at 2-3 weeks for delivery and will be without the biologic for at least 2 weeks. On Abatacept x

I am in Yorkshire, but yes, twice it's happened to me. The nurses had not done the prescription or the pharmacy at the hosp had not checked it and sent it to the delivery company. The first time I contacted the nurses via phone and last time my Biologic was a week late. I eventually went through the consultants secretary. Good luck. If I have not heard anything now 10 days prior to running out I book a nurse call to speak to them

PALS will probably help actually

Ok thanks. I’m actually due a rheumy app at the end of July if it does not get cancelled. I’ve rung a couple of times this year re other issues and spoken to rheumy sec (who is usually very good) and no one has ever got back to me. It’s frustrating x

I’m in Medway and it comes from Sciensus if you’re under the Medway Maritime. There is no choice and I do have the number of the coordinator there. I was on Abatercept and it only comes a month at a time. You can PM me the other thing is it’s not a monthly prescription MMH send direct I think for 6 months. Medway have a helpline and I’ve never had an appointment cancelled there.

Hi, I’m a darent valley patient which I believe now comes under Medway Maritime. Apps are held at Northfleet though. Lloyds clinical homecare do my deliveries. I’ll try ringing them again to see if delivery can be brought forward. I was getting 3 months supply during the pandemic but back to 4 weeks only now. I’m out of jabs after today 🙄 x

I think it it does now too. Medway RA team are good, sorted my change of meds in a week. Abatercept gave me dreadful skin problems and didn’t work that well. All these HAH companies seem to be a bit rubbish and I’ve had issues with Sciensus in the past fortunately they seem to be improving. I hope you sort this, it’s so stressful. X I think it is in short supply as I could only get a month at a time too.

I had a right row with sciensis, took them 8 weeks andxstillbgog the address wrong, even collected it from the courier depot myself, spoke to a customer service lady who found the problem now being delivered correctly.

I live in Margate and I have this problem once a year when my prescription needs renewing. This year I chased the hospital who said they had written the prescription but Sciensus who deliver mine never received it. Took a lot of chasing from me with the hospital, who sent a duplicate, and the supervisor at Sciensus. Missed an injection by a week. Something clearly in not working as it should.

Mine went haywire at the start of lockdown and I missed a few weeks. Ended up getting a cab to rheumatology and banging on their door 😂 as no one was returning calls. Getting fed up with jumping through hoops to get anything done at the moment. I’m also out of Mepacrine which is prescribed by Kings College. GP won’t prescribe as it’s unlicensed apparently for lupus.

I had thought I had trouble with Lloyds but in fact it was the hospital side providing the prescription. Put down to me not having regular blood tests. So check you are having the blood tests on time as it can delay the prescriptions etc etc
