Does anyone have the patiant access app and does it work ???
Patiant access : Does anyone have the patiant access... - NRAS
Patiant access
I have it. You need the access codes from your surgery to get onto it. Once on it is a useful app. My GP app has more functions. I have GP on my phone and Patient Access on the tablet. The MyGp has access to the govt vaccination passport function.
Thanks. Had the app for about two years after my GP moved to it from another site. But pretty much all functions seem unavailable. Wasn't sure of it was the app or my GP .
On patient access we can re order long terms meds. Before Covid could book an appt. No facility to send a message other than in relation to meds.
I can order repeat prescriptions. Prior to Covid, I could book appointments on line but that function has now gone. I can also review medications. There are other functions but they need to be enabled by your GP. Mine are an old fashioned practice, which is helpful in some ways, but it means they do not make full use of the app functions. I would like to collect my blood results on the app but my practice do not enable this.
My GP practice still use faxes….so you can just imagine how much use they make of this function.I don’t understand why you get a long online message about “our” App….only to find everything you try to access xyz…..you get a response like “.your surgery do not use this service”!
I was trying to speak to a doctor who had asked me to call him.,,,,,only to find I was No 17 in the queue…just to speak to speak to the receptionist!
No….I didn’t “hold”.
These days it appears everybody in any sort of service industry thinks their clients have nothing better to do, than spend as long as it takes to call them…..whatever happened to customer, client, patient service?
Unfortunately with a GP there is no alternative unless you opt to try a private GP at exorbitant expense….& as they probably won’t have access to your file - would probably be a waste of time.
I have now decided as long as I wake up in the morning- I’m fine….SITY (sort it yourself) has kept me going so far so why rock the boat?
It sounds like your GP has blocked it. My surgery Has done the same thing, like booking appointments and so on. But it is a good app, especially for reordering prescriptions. I'm on 12 or so different tablets a week which is well over a hundred tablets a week. So it helps a lot. Plus all the info within the app. Also, my records are on there which goes back quite a few years which makes good reading when I'm bored.😆
I have Patient Access. I find it useful for reference as all consultants correspondence is copied on it. You can order repeat medication too which is very useful. The facilities it provides to you are determined by your GP. My surgery has removed the appointment booking facility since Covid and never allowed the message facility.
I'm in the process of signing up for it. Had to take id docs to surgery, then they do something, then I have to re-visit surgery with id to collect access codes, so I will at last be able to access it. Not sure how useful it will prove to be.
Thanks all. I've come to the conclusion my GP Pratice are not technically minded
I found it interesting that there is nothing on my surgery's website to tell you about the process of signing up (as you might think you could just do it by yourself online, but in fact you can't. I've suggested to them that they need to put the relevant info on the website, and am looking forward to seeing if they add it.
My GP uses System online. Can book appointments with nurses OK and occasionally there is an odd one for a GP. Can order meds but that is about it. Cannot view records or test results as not enabled by surgery. Looked at MY GP but cannot download it on to my computer as I thought that might have more functions.
I have the app and think it’s great but clearly it depends on your surgery as to what you can access. I get blood test results, order meds, results from hospital etc. However you can now also get all this information if you download the NHS app which also shows if/when you have had covid jabs
I can see prescription items , vaccinations,Blood tests coded illness report
All illnesses are given a code
My surgery uses System on line but it’s very basic. I tried Patient Access but it wasn’t compatible with my surgery. I want an app that allows me to see my blood test results but it depends on your GP practice unfortunately.
My surgery uses patient access and it works really well for me. It depends what services your GP signs up for. I can order repeat prescriptions, before Covid could make a doctors appointment online, I can email my GP, see my tests results and blood results and also a summary of all my consultations and health conditions that I have been diagnosed with. I can also see my letters from the hospital too. x
I use it regularly and it works very well for medication and GP appointments.
But they now want you to use the NHS app. Not sure if this will eventually replace the Patient Access one though.
I get my blood done at my doctor's but my hospital signed me up to My Chart, so I get blood results, letters to GP from hospital all on there. Maybe your hospital uses that?
Yes I have love it get your codes from gp and you're off xxx
You make it sound so simple, and perhaps it should be. In my case however, I'm still waiting for codes from the surgery. I took the details down (passports, etc) for me and my wife. 10 days later I visited the surgery to collect my code(s). My wife's was available, but mine was not. They said they would ring me when they have mine. I'm still waiting 2 weeks later. I guess it's time to contact them again.
Just an update. It seems after two years my GP Surgery hasn't set up any services on it so I've now deleted the account. Thanks all who replied 👍
I use it to order repeat meds, check blood test results of other results such as my recent mri. We used to book appointments too, but not since covid.
