My daughter had 1st dose Rituximab infusion 10 days ago on 28th April & is experiencing pain on her shoulders & fingers are stiff. As per Rheuny she also reduced her Prednisolone from 20ngs to 15 mgs on 5th May She has upped it back to 20mgs yesterday 8th May. 2nd dose Rituximab due 12th May. Wondering if this is side effects of Rituximab or reducing too much Pred.? As w/end haven't contacted Rheuny nurse helpline

It can take a few weeks for the full effect of the Rituximab to be noticed and so by reducing the Prednisolone she is noticing some joint twinges. Going back up to 20 mgs should help that and she can reduce it again in a week or two when the Rituximab is working it’s magic!
I don't know if Pred with biologics is the same as with Dmards but if it is, I would say it is too much. I was told to reduce by 1 mg per month and I wasn't on as strong a dose as your daughter. x
It could possibly be reducing pred too much. It's not likely the retuximab has kicked in yet. See if she improves now that her dose has been upped again.
