Hi all, I have been on rituximab nearly a year and it has given me my life back to some extent, but since I have started it I have had rosacea on my face, scalp, back and part of my legs. My doctor wants me off it but I cant find this as a side effect for rituximab, I would like to know if anyone else has suffered from this on this med or is it just a coincidence.

As Rosacea is also an auto immune disease, and many RA sufferers get it, it might just be a coincidence. I have Rosacea on and off. sing Rituximab hasn't made it worse. In fact I take it for my Rheumatoid Vasculitis to control the rash Vasculitis causes.
thank you I will check it out
Hi Sunny,
It could just be a co-incidence. I had some strange pains in my feet after my first infusion which they thought could be a side effect. The eventual conclusion was that it was RA related and I've since had 2 more infusions. Still have the foot pains but they are better than they were. Best to talk to your Rheumatologist to be sure
All the best to you
Michele
The rheumy nurse told me to see the doctor, but she has made an appointment with the dermatologist for me
The downside of living on an island is our rheumatologist is flown in every other month and I am down to see her, when she arrives. the upside is we have a fantastic hospital with hardly any waiting list,
I've been on rituximab for a few years now with no side effects - just a headache on infusion day
I've had 15 cycles of ritux and I have severe Rosacea. I've had awful acne over the last 12 months so rheumy referred me to Dermatology who gave me a cream called Soolantra. It cleared the acne beautifully for 2 months but now it's creeping back. I've not heard ritux can cause Rosacea and my dermatologist didn't mention it.
Hope you get some answers.
Kiki
Hi Sunny, sorry to hear of your struggles. I have had bad skin my whole life, acne early then rosacea. I started taking Dr. Collagen from Dr. Axe to help my RA a few months ago and my skin all over my body has never looked better. I dissolve a tablespoon in a small glass of organic tart cherry juice (which is supposed to be good for arthritis) each day. I noticed a difference in a few weeks. Good luck! Penny
