Looking after your feet 👣

Morning Peeps🙂,

My distraction today is:

nras.org.uk/resource/foot-h...

So, so interesting! I have learned so much about caring for my painful feet today - thank you NRAS!

There are a few videos to watch. I found the one about how biological therapies can affect your feet enlightening.

I still have the same question: where can I buy reasonably priced, modern trainers/shoes/boots?

Maybe I shouldn't be worried about fashion, but I do.

I found this very interesting too. I just got a pair of trainers from Geox they are wide fitting but soooo comfortable and my insoles fit 😁

Which ones did you get? There are so many of them! They look lovely, but quite pricey 😊

I got the Alhour. I wanted something a bit dressier . My sister introduced me to this brand as she has fat feet 😂( her words) they are pricey ( I’ve spent a fortune on cheaper ones that I don’t wear)I just missed out on the sale . My sister got a great pair of waterproof walking ones at half price in the sale 🤬boy I was mad they would have been perfect.check discount promotions site discounts pop up now and then .

J1707 , how did you find out about the name GEOX shoes. I’ve just looked it up on website and they look so soft and comfortable. The price isn’t too bad either. Are they good for extra wide feet. Anything else you can tell me at allfrom Penny

My sister has wide feet she was the one who recommended them . I spoke to my podiatrist and he said they were a good brand. They come up wide as standard ( they call it comfort fit) so most standard feet go down one size (see size guide) The leather is very good and not stiff but as to extra wide fitting I don’t know but as the shoes are soft perhaps they will stretch easy. I believe there is free returns. As with all shoes I wear round the house for a few days if not right I send them back .. sorry I’m not much help.

You could try widerfitshoes.co.uk/?gclid=...

I’ve got a few styles from them and you can get VAT free (if those shoes are eligible) due to rheumatoid arthritis. I have insoles that fit well too and super comfortable.

I'm so going to stop picking my toenails 🥴

Thanks for sharing this. I shall have a listen this afternoon. It amazes me that our feet aren’t included in our DAS scores etc. x

Apparently, wearing white pumps/trainers are currently achingly hip. Wear them with anything. I got some Vionics and they're blooming amazing. Wide enough, removeable shaped insoles, with room for orthotics and they look good too.

Oooh. Forgot. It's worth looking at M & M Direct for bargains

I’ve just bought a hunters Jacket from M and M direct . Vastly reduced . Don’t like to embarrass the dog when we’re out :)

Good idea. Canines are so easily embarrassed by their staff. I bought a lovely pair of high top Doc trainers so look slightly rebellious. Hell's Grannies rule!

I buy shoes from ShoeMed which has shops in Stratford On Avon Canterbury and Clithero(I think) They also have a good website with a detailed description of the shoes and conditions they are suitable for and efficient returns service. They sell a whole range of brands with styles for a wide range of foot conditions. Great variety of unfrumpy quality shoes.I have very wide feet with bunions and hammer toe plus need an orthotic...lovely...and buy their Joya style trainers and could walk for miles.Hope this helps.
