Steroid injection and RA drugs

I had a steroid injection in my shoulder last Thursday and although I was due my second Covid jab this week was told to delay it for two weeks after the steroid.injection. I never thought to query if it was ok to go ahead with with my usual weekly Benepali and Methotrexate injections. Benepali due this evening. Has anyone else been in this situation and have an answer?

By the by Easter is becoming memorable for medical problems. Last Easter after finishing an Easter egg my heart decided to go on a go slow and I had to be admitted to hospital as an emergency and have a pacemaker fitted!Ticking along well ever since, thank you NHS

It is entirely safe to carry on your RA drugs alongside steroid injections. I have had steroid jabs many times and am on same drugs as are you and never altered them.

She has already been told to delay her covid jab so I read that having had steroid jab 4 days ago was asking about her RA drugs,Enbrel and MTX, in relation to that, not to the vaccine. That was also the title of her post.

(The advice re delay between usual RA drugs and vaccine is very variable so NRAS recommend that people should follow what their own doctor says).

Specific gp, physio, and consultant advice is two week gap either side of Covid_19 jab it is set virtually in stone for steroid jab.

.It will affect immune responses to do with the vaccination is my humble opinion as to why there is this advice.

Drugs in relation to arthritis and the vaccination is more seemingly an individual gp, consultant decision is as you say.

I am not taking any chances and no medical people that I am seeing in Gloucestershire and Warwickshire were prepared to either.

I could have killed for a steroid injection a general depomedrone last year, and now flaring again it has delayed my steroid into feet, and revision of ra treatment options.

Which is unfortunate as I am so affected now I have parted company, with my original pharmacy employer due to being rung up and hassled on The same day I rang in sick asking me to go in!

I only let them down on one day!, that I handed my notice in Saturday after my 2ndCovid_19, jab.,

I was called to re register by NHS in March 2020, I also locum for a nice independent pharmacy owner, and my shifts shortened with a sit down option occasionally, so that suits my current health better.

I had given up and de registered nov19 only to be recalled in March
